Skyline Interiors designs the insides of buildings — offices, hotel lobbies, members' clubs and the occasional very demanding private residence. The studio was founded in 2011 by a designer and a project manager who had both worked at larger practices and wanted one where the person who drew the scheme also saw it built.
The team of about ninety covers design, technical documentation, FF&E procurement and site supervision, working mostly in Hong Kong with projects in Macau and Shenzhen. The studio has developed a specialism in workplace design for financial and legal clients, where confidentiality, acoustics and a certain restraint matter more than a striking photograph.
The Wong Chuk Hang studio has a materials library that people visit from other practices, and Friday afternoons often end with a review pin-up over drinks. Deadlines around tender and handover are intense, but the studio protects annual leave and does not run the all-nighter culture that some competitors do.
