About the role
Peak season starts in September and does not let go until Lunar New Year. Eastwind is bringing on three coordinators on 12-month contracts to carry us through it, and historically about half of our contract coordinators are offered permanent roles at the end.
You will be based airside in the cargo terminal on a four-shift rotating roster. The job is to be the link between our operations floor and the handling agent: confirming ULD build-up plans, checking piece counts and dimensions against the manifest, escorting irregularity checks, and closing out the flight file so the export desk can send the pre-alert.
There is no pretending this is a desk job. You will be on your feet, in a high-vis, in summer heat and typhoon shoulder weather. In exchange you learn air cargo from the concrete up, which is knowledge nobody can take off you.
What you'll do
- Coordinate ULD build-up and breakdown with the handling agent against the flight plan
- Verify piece count, weight and dimensions against the manifest and flag discrepancies before cut-off
- Escort and document irregularity checks — damage, wet cargo, security screening rejects
- Update the operating system in real time so the export desk can issue accurate pre-alerts
- Support handling of dangerous goods and temperature-controlled consignments under supervision
- Complete the shift log and hand over open flights cleanly to the incoming coordinator
What we're looking for
- Higher Diploma in Aviation, Logistics or a related discipline, or HKDSE with relevant airside experience
- 1+ year in air cargo, ground handling or warehouse operations
- Able to work a four-shift rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays
- Cantonese fluency and enough English to read manifests, AWBs and airline messaging
- Eligible to obtain an Airport Restricted Area Permit and pass the associated security check
Nice to have
- IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations awareness training
- Existing Airport Restricted Area Permit
- Basic Mandarin for mainland trucking crews
What you get
- One month completion gratuity at the end of the 12-month term
- Shift allowance and free 24-hour staff shuttle
- Uniform, safety boots and cold-weather kit provided
- Company-funded airside safety and DGR training
- Priority consideration for permanent roles when the contract ends
