About the role
Our Causeway Bay rehabilitation suite is small on purpose — four treatment rooms, a gym floor with a Pilates reformer and an isokinetic dynamometer, and a caseload that comes mostly from our own orthopaedic surgeons rather than off the street.
We are looking for a physiotherapist for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Slots are 45 minutes and we do not double-book: if you have ever run three patients at once across two plinths and a bike, you will understand why we say that first. Roughly 60% of the caseload is post-operative knee and shoulder rehabilitation, with the balance in office-worker neck and lower back, and a steady trickle of runners from the Bowen Road crowd.
You will work with two other physiotherapists, an exercise physiologist and a part-time occupational therapist, under Joyce Lam who leads our rehabilitation services. Case discussions with the referring surgeon happen every fortnight and you are expected to speak up in them.
What you'll do
- Assess and treat post-operative orthopaedic, musculoskeletal and sports injury patients across a 45-minute appointment model
- Design and progress individual exercise programmes, and re-test objectively rather than by feel
- Deliver manual therapy, dry needling and electrotherapy where clinically indicated
- Write clear progress notes and discharge summaries back to the referring surgeon in our EMR
- Attend fortnightly case conferences with the orthopaedic team and flag patients who are not tracking
- Contribute to our return-to-sport testing protocol and help keep it evidence-current
What we're looking for
- Registered Physiotherapist (Part I) with the Physiotherapists Board of Hong Kong, holding a valid practising certificate
- At least 3 years of clinical experience with a musculoskeletal or post-operative caseload
- Fluent Cantonese — most patients are treated in Cantonese — and enough English for surgeon correspondence
- Available Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, including Saturday mornings from 9am
Nice to have
- Post-graduate training in manual therapy, sports physiotherapy or dry needling
- Experience with isokinetic testing or return-to-sport criteria
- Clinical Pilates certification
What you get
- Sessional rate paid monthly with professional indemnity cover included
- Pro-rata annual leave and statutory holidays
- HK$6,000 a year CPD allowance, pro-rated, plus in-house case conferences
- Free use of the rehabilitation gym outside clinic hours
- Genuine 45-minute slots — the schedule is protected, not aspirational
