About the role
Our FX desk covers around 300 Hong Kong corporates: exporters with USD receivables, importers paying in CNH and EUR, and a growing group of mid-market firms with real cross-boundary exposure since their supply chains moved.
This is a sales trading seat, which means you both cover the client and manage the risk on the ticket. You quote, you fill, you hedge, and you live with the mark. There are six of us on the desk and one head; the spot and forward books are managed in Hong Kong, so a client question does not go into a queue in another time zone.
The seat is open because we are extending coverage into the mid-market segment, where most firms are still hedging by accident. The upside for a seller is that the conversation is genuinely consultative — you are often the first person who has shown them their actual exposure profile.
What you'll do
- Cover a portfolio of corporate clients across spot, forwards, swaps and vanilla options.
- Quote and execute client trades, managing the residual risk within your intraday limits.
- Build hedging proposals grounded in the client's real cash flow and exposure calendar, not a product sheet.
- Grow the mid-market book through referrals from commercial banking and direct origination.
- Monitor market events, fixings and CNH liquidity conditions, and get ahead of clients before they call.
- Maintain conduct standards under the FX Global Code and full suitability records for every derivative sale.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in FX sales, sales trading or corporate treasury sales in Hong Kong.
- SFC Type 1 licence, or the HKSI papers passed and ready to transfer.
- Fluent pricing of forwards, swaps and simple option structures without a calculator prompt.
- Trilingual working ability — Cantonese for local corporates, Mandarin for mainland-parented groups, English for documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics or a related field.
Nice to have
- CNH and cross-boundary settlement experience.
- Existing corporate client relationships in manufacturing or trading.
- ACI Dealing Certificate.
What you get
- 13th month plus a documented sales credit scheme paid semi-annually
- Medical, dental and life cover from day one
- Admiralty dealing floor with a five-minute walk to the MTR interchange
- 18 days annual leave and a firm no-weekend-work policy on the desk
- Full licensing and ACI sponsorship
