About the role

Treasury sits at the centre of the bank: nine dealers running HKD, USD and CNH liquidity, repo, and the internal funds transfer pricing curve every other desk quotes off. When the aggregate balance tightens and HIBOR gaps, this is the room that decides what it costs the rest of the bank.

We are recruiting a money markets dealer as the previous incumbent moves to our balance sheet strategy team. You will run the short end of the HKD book day to day, manage the CNH funding position through the Hong Kong offshore market, and cover the desk's repo activity with local counterparties.

The role is on the floor, full stop — a dealing room with recorded lines is not a hybrid environment. In exchange you get an Asia-hours desk that closes when Hong Kong closes, which is rarer in this market than it should be.

What you'll do

• Manage daily HKD and USD liquidity, placements and takings within board-approved limits.
• Trade the CNH funding position and monitor offshore liquidity conditions and the CNH HIBOR fixings.
• Execute repo and reverse repo with bank counterparties and manage the collateral schedule.
• Maintain and publish the internal funds transfer pricing curve used by the lending businesses.
• Monitor LCR and NSFR sensitivities intraday and escalate before a limit is breached, not after.
• Work with ALCO on funding plans, deposit pricing and contingency liquidity scenarios.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years on a bank treasury or money markets desk in Hong Kong.
• Practical command of HKD interbank mechanics, the Discount Window and HKMA liquidity rules.
• ACI Dealing Certificate or equivalent, and a clean conduct record under the FX Global Code.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or a quantitative subject.
• Composure — the desk is loudest on the days the numbers matter most.

Nice to have

• CNH funding or cross-currency basis experience.
• Familiarity with Murex or Calypso treasury platforms.
• Understanding of Basel III liquidity reporting from the producer side.
