About the role
Our summer programme places twenty penultimate-year undergraduates across corporate banking, credit risk, treasury and transaction banking for ten weeks from June 2027. Applications open now and are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submissions genuinely help.
Interns here are not assigned to photocopying. Each intern joins one desk for the full ten weeks, is given a named deliverable on week one, and presents it to a panel of business heads in week nine. Recent projects have included an industry review used in a live credit paper and a deposit pricing comparison that changed a product decision.
There is also a deliberately social layer: a two-day induction, a mentor from the graduate cohort, three learning sessions a week and a community day at a Hong Kong charity partner. Around half of each summer cohort receives a graduate programme offer before they return to university.
What you'll do
- Join one business desk for ten weeks and contribute to its day-to-day work from week two.
- Complete a named project with a defined output and present it to a panel of business heads.
- Support financial spreading, industry research, client materials and data cleanup as directed.
- Attend the technical curriculum: banking products, credit fundamentals, markets and conduct.
- Take part in the community day and the intern case competition.
What we're looking for
- Penultimate-year undergraduate at a Hong Kong or overseas university, graduating in 2028.
- Existing right to work in Hong Kong for the internship period — we do not sponsor visas for this programme.
- Comfortable in Excel and able to build a simple model with guidance.
- Business-level English and Cantonese.
- Available for the full ten weeks from 8 June 2027 with no scheduled absences.
Nice to have
- Coursework or a society role involving finance, accounting or economics.
- Any prior part-time or vacation work — we read it seriously.
- Mandarin, or a third language used in a professional setting.
